  • The municipal waste thermal treatment plant is adapted to processing of mixed municipal waste, excluding hazardous waste.
  • Plant efficiency: approx. 210,000 t/year
  • The project is implemented according to the principles of Public-Private Partnership (PPP)
    covering the operation period of 25 years from the hand-over of the plant. The plant is located at ul. Energetyczna, in the Poznań-Karolin region.
  • Cost of the project: PLN 725 million (approx. EUR 180 million)
  • The project was financed from SUEZ Zielona Energia’s own funds, obtained in the form of 20% capital from shareholders, and from long-term loans granted by three Polish banks: Pekao SA (PZU Group), PKO BP and Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego – in total 80%
  • The project has been co-financed from EU funds in the amount of PLN 352 million under the Operational Programme – Infrastructure and Environment.
  • The plant was opened in 2016 and allows to reduce the amount of municipal waste going to landfills in accordance with EU directives and Polish law.
  •  Thermal energy generated during waste incineration will be collected by VEOLIA Energia Poznań, which manages the district heating network, while electric energy will go to the power grid. Revenue from the sale of energy will be provided to the City.
  • For the construction of the plant SUEZ Zielona Energia has chosen the consortium of Hitachi Zosen Inova, a global leader in technology for thermal processing plants, as well as Hochtief Polska and Hochtief Solutions, one of the largest construction companies in the world.
Odzyskaj-korzystaj
